Tell your own story with art, images, narration, and video. Then see it come to life! We will ask ourselves such things as – where am I from? what if I was an inanimate object? what would a cat say if I interviewed them? The process of creating digital stories builds confidence, teaches organization and detail sequencing while enhancing language and literacy skills, and is creative and fun. You will create your very own digital story to keep and share with others
Daring and Dangerous!
The featured program of Week 1 is both Daring and Dangerous! Inspired by The Dangerous Book for Boys and The Daring Book for Girls, campers will practice all sorts of mischief, from learning how to tie basic knots to fun variations of classic games. There’s even an entire day devoted to all amazing things you can do with a lemon! Daring and dangerous campers are sure not only to have an exciting time but also to learn a life skill or two along the way.
Forensic science draws from foundations in biology, chemistry and physics. Campers will learn how to solve crimes by recognizing, collecting, and analyzing physical evidence commonly found at crime scenes. From fingerprinting to blood-typing, campers will learn practical skills and achieve a greater understanding of the role physical evidence plays in court proceedings.
Interested in letting your creativity run wild on stage? Then choose Improv this summer! Improvisational theatre (Improv) is any unscripted theatrical performance. Completely spontaneous and absolutely wild, improv develops stage presence and interpersonal skills! Each day will be filled with fun stage games and activities including scenarios made popular by the TV show Whose Line is it Anyway? and many more. Friday afternoon will feature a short improvisational skit for parents and fellow camp-goers.
Monday afternoons, all campers will participate (weather permitting) in outdoor activities/adventures on-campus at The MacDuffie School. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, we’ll split into groups for trips throughout the area! Friday afternoons will feature camp performances and exhibitions.
